In my opinion, they pay more attention to the artistic performance rather than the quality of music here. This depends on the director though.

The building is quite new inside. Although the main hall is in historic style, everyone uses the same two wardrobes. In short, the interiors look authentic, but are designed in accordance with modern standards.

We have watched La Boheme here today. The building is beautiful, with stunning chandeliers and gold, looks fancy.

The performance itself was great, nice acoustics and singing was impressive! It seems that they kept it classic rather than turning it into a too contemporary version. Stage decorations could be better though - it it too simple/empty/boring.

My only complaint is the SEATING. We got the tickets in Parkett links C, Reihe: 12, Platz: 3 and 4. There is almost no angle on the seating so we ended up seeing the foreheads of 2 man in front of us for the whole play!!! We could not see the stage or the orchestra and these were quite expensive tickets! Also the chairs are uncomfortable and packed very close so there is no leg room at all. Next time will never get Parkett here, only the balcony!!!

The operahouse is very grand and beautifull, but the best thing would have to be the staff. When I needed help urgently, the staff was quick to take action and resolved the matter. They care very much about ladies' safety. Thank you very much for helping me and also for the beautifull production of Don Giovanni. Would love to come back!

High-class experience. There are subtitles in English and a wide entry price range to very affordable

Beautiful building and well organized service. Pro tip, don't get a red wine during intermission if you don't want to chug. The performance of Madame Butterfly could have been more culturally competent.

Really a great opera, with a small audience and a fantastic scene. Their 'Le nozze di Figare', directed by Daniel Barenboim, was one of my most intense theatrical experiences yesterday. Elsa Dreisig as Countess was particularly convincing, but also Nadine Sierra as Susanna. And I liked Cherubino, the most demanding role in this staging. Chapeau bas!
