(Translated by Google) Whenever we are in Stuttgart when the weather is nice, we are drawn to the Waldheim in Gaisburg.
So again today on Easter Sunday. It's nice that this tradition of forest homes still exists.
A leisurely stroll across the Geroksruhe and the eastern forest plain takes you there and you are immediately rewarded with a magnificent view of the VfB stadium.
Even away from the view, the walk is worth it. Tasty Rothaus beer and delicious Swabian food with good service spoil the guests. Today we enjoyed tripe (not too sour as you often get it) with roast potatoes and lentils with strings and spaetzle. There is fresh water for dogs, the children can romp outside and the terraced facility guarantees every visitor a beautiful view.
In summer, the Waldheim is more than well attended and you shouldn't hesitate too long, otherwise the numerous tables are full. Outside there is self-service, but the food is announced and nobody has to wait too long.
There are also interesting cultural events. I think the Waldheim Gaisburg, with its more than 100-year history, is always worth a visit and far better than any XXL hatch.
You made the way back down to Gaisburg in 20 to 25 minutes, and then the goodies are almost worn out again. ;O)

Wann immer wir bei schönem Wetter in Stuttgart sind, zieht es uns ins Waldheim nach Gaisburg.
So auch wieder heute am Ostersonntag. Es ist schön, dass es diese Tradition der Waldheime noch gibt.
Über die Geroksruhe und die Waldebene Ost ist man nach einem gemütlichen Spaziergang schnell dort und wird sogleich mit einem herrlichen Blick Richtung VfB-Stadion belohnt.
Auch fernab der Aussicht lohnt sich der Weg. Süffiges Rothausbier und leckeres schwäbisches Essen bei gutem Service verwöhnen die Gäste. Wir haben uns heute Kutteln (nicht zu sauer, wie man es oft bekommt) mit Röstkartoffeln und Linsen mit Saiten und Spätzle schmecken lassen. Für Hund gibt es frisches Wasser, die Kinder können draußen toben und die terrassenförmige Anlage garantieren jedem Besucher einen schönen Blick.
Im Sommer ist das Waldheim mehr als gut besucht und man sollte nicht zu lange zögern, sonst sind auch die sehr zahlreichen Tische voll. Draußen herrscht Selbstbedienung, das Essen wird aber ausgerufen und zu lange muß keiner warten.
Interessante kulturelle Veranstaltungen gibt es auch. Ich finde, das Waldheim Gaisburg mit seiner über 100-jährigen Geschichte ist immer einen Besuch wert und um Klassen besser, als jede XXL-Durchreiche.
Den Rückweg nach Gaisburg runter hat man in 20 bis 25 Minuten geschafft, dann sind auch die Leckereien fast wieder abtrainiert. ;o)
