Nice hotel for the price, but it's a bit old and the beds are hard as bricks.
The hotel is conveniently located near to the Mercedes museum. It's a 5 min drive or a 25 min walk from the museum - we walked with kids no problem. Getting into Stuttgart centre is easy, as the train is just a few minutes walking away. There is also a supermarket just up the street.
The hotel staff is very friendly and speaks English. The room looked and felt dated and cleaning could be better. They didn't change the sheets during our two nights stay, and the carpets looked a little dirty. The bed was made up of two separate mattresses, but these were not held together.
From our room there was a nice view of some trees and windows that could be opened.
The breakfast was fine, but nothing special. It was cheap, so not a bad deal.
There is a restaurant located in the hotel, but it's a separate business. The food was very good, the prices fair, and service very child-friendly.
The hotel also offers free parking.

Would not rate it as a 4 star hotel, rooms not that great, staff not that accommodating. The only + is the food we had at dinner which was good. The following night I stayed at Ibis which is a level above this for the same price

This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in... I stayed here once a year for 5 years... The staff are amazing the food is delicious. You will not find a better breakfast anywhere... Excellent beer and schnapps I can't wait to stay again

Amazingly lovely staff. Nice clean rooms. The attached restaurant was fantastic: great menu and delicious.

Over salted food and mediocore swabian restaurant.Above average pricing too.Mostly serving hotel guests,no locals seemed to be eating there.

I stay at the Ochsen every month on business, and it is an excellent family run hotel, and the restaurant has a wide selection of excellent meals.
Highly recommended.
