Quite wonderful, small and cozy restaurant in the heart of Saarbrücken. We like it not so crowded and touristy and like regional cuisine. Therefore, we have searched, found and learned to love the restaurant La Bastille.

The wine is fantastic, daily menu not to be scoffed at and the pork tenderloin medallions quite delicious.

Service is very polite and courteous. The waitress spoke not only German, but also French and English.

Were only 3 days in Saarbrücken, but went to the wonderful Bastille on all three evenings. If you really want to experience something VERY SPECIAL in Saarbrücken, go here.

Not every great restaurant in the Saar Region needs a Michelin Star. In La Bastille you get high quality food and really good service for a decent price. The family-run restaurant combines the best elements of both, German and French cuisine. I can highly recommend the snails baked with cheese as a starter. Their ‚Dibbelabbes‘ tastes like your grandmother prepared it with her old cast-iron pan and brings back sweet childhood memories. There are no wrong choices on the menu!
Also the wine selection is really good - especially the Auxerrois!
While I’m writing this review I’m already thinking about my next visit at the restaurant of the Grolier Family.

One of the best restaurants in Saarbrücken. Family owned and very charming personell. All dishes are amazing but for first timers the regional food is always a good choice. Even if i am more a beer person, U are able to get very good vine there too.

Great food. Reasonable pricing. The staff are very friendly and the service is prompt.

The food was good but I expected more French variety apart from calamari.

Not too bad but they didn't respect how I wanted my meat to be cooked. Is wasn't blue it was overcooked. That's probably because I don't speak German and they barely speak any English.
It's super pricey for what you get.
The taste wasn't the best either.
I don't think I will come back to this place.
Service was really good tho.
