The service is a bit slow, but the coffee and appetisers (which we ordered) were pretty good. They have outdoor seating, and the place is in the middle of St. Johanner Markt, which is the prime location for a lot of good cafés here. The name 'Die Kartoffel' literally means 'The Potato' and their entire menu is centred around potato and sweet potato dishes. They also have good vegetarian options available. The menu is also available in 5 languages (including German and English), so that's another plus.

Beautiful place in the heart of old town, delicious food and warm and welcoming atmosphere.. you're welcome at any time. Interesting interior, kept the authentic idea of building. Be sure to visit Die Kartoffel.

Possible the best German pub in town. The food is always great.

Generous portions. The turkey schnitzel was delicious. Some traditional Saarland dishes are on the menu. Friendly staff.
