Very creative fountain.. take a circle walk and notice the expression of the statues carved around the fountain.

Ehekarussell (Carousel) also known as the Marriage-Merry-Go-Round is a large scale statue arrangement situated around a fountain just the northwest side of Weißer Turm in the city centre. It is the work of Jurgen Weber (1984) and relates to the 'Bitter-Sweet Married Life' poem of 16th-century Nuremburg poet Hans Sachs.

What you find here are a variety of marriage scenes depicting a husband and wife experiencing various stages of love and fighting. They are seen as humorous and at times unattractive figures, meddling with beastly creatures. It is a creative, if not at times disturbing and thought provoking collection that is worth spending a few minutes to look over, even if you end up not liking the collection of figures on display.

Unfortunately during our December visit, the fountain was not operational. However, you are still able to view and enjoy the fountain statues at this time of year.

Must see in Nuremberg. Find the time to take a look from different sides. Really Great fountain.

It's maybe the weirdest fountain you ever saw. Sculptures are so ugly and funny at the same time, so you will spend more time there to see the details and you won't be sorry :)

Beautiful square and loads of shops and places to eat plus very good English spoken people in all business

Nuremberg’s controversial bronze fountain ( loosely the Marriage Merry Go Round) has been upsetting people with its sensationally grim representation of the trials of marriage.
