An attractive spot in Munich for chilling, sitting and enjoying your time by the Isar river specially on sunny days.
Almost crowded always since it’s favorite bridge for both tourists and residents.
This place is strongly recommended if you are looking for a green place for chilling and grabing a beer.

The Wittelsbach Bridge , named after the Bavarian royal family of Wittelsbach , is an arch bridge over the Isar in Munich . The Wittelsbach Bridge connects the Isarvorstadt on the left bank of the Isar with the Au and Untergiesing on the right bank of the Isar. The wooden factory footbridge used in the construction of the Braunau railway bridge was rebuilt at this location after completion in 1871 as a temporary crossing of the Isar. From 1875 there was an iron framework construction between two bridge portals, built by August von Voit . The concrete bridge was built in 1904 as part of the bridge construction program offered by the company Sager u0026 Woerner . Theodor Fischer was responsible for the external design of the bridge, while Sager u0026 Woerner was responsible for the design and construction. Technically, the Wittelsbach Bridge is a copy of the Reichenbach Bridge. I

One of the most relaxing and beautiful places in Munich. There a river where you could just lay near and let the day's stresses disappear. Bring some music, your pet, a couple of beers and you're all set to relax.

See that Island in the middle of the river?? THAT is the place and just to the right is the famous Treppe/Steps 100 meters long Arc of steps that descends to the water where the city created a deep 3 meter channel for swimming and diving on the right side of the island..about 250 meters long with a swift current that quickly Peter's out as the river widens on the back side of the island, the bottom vanishing to just ankle depth.
Safe for small children family's and very popular with the gentle citizens of Munich proper.
UPDATE - BETTER THAN EVER.
super friendly locals and Refreshingly Cold Mountain Water Rushing/ISAR off the Alps to the Danube thru Munich.
I guess it's ironic that the Latin word name ISAR for the River thru Munich means RUSHING in reverse is RASI/racy river.????
