Beautiful. Well kept grass, not too much sun, but also not too cold, lots of nice trees and several beautiful statues. I took a few photos. They really captivated me.

Maximilianplatz is a roughly rectangular public square and gardens located between the districts Altstadt-Lehel and Maxvorstadt. I wandered into this part of Munich on a hot day and found it a nice escape from the heat with it's many benches and trees providing rest and shade. Inside the gardens are two fountains, the tiny Karl Albrecht Hof Brunnen and on the western edge, the much better known Wittelsbacher fountain. The gardens also contains monuments to many well known Germans such as Friedrich Schiller, Justus von Liebig and Max Joseph von Pettenkofer.

Maximilianplatz is a narrow stretch of green space between Lehnbachplatz to the southwest and Platz Der Opfer Des Natzionzlsozialismus (Place of the victims of National Socialism) to the northeast.

Here you find a rural setting, basically a mini version of the English Gardens in the heart of the Old City. This public square is lined with mature trees on both sides, includes walking paths and grassy areas. You'll also find a handful of interesting statue monuments scattered throughout Maximilianplatz.

It is a nice opportunity to escape the streets of Munich, grab a park bench and rest your feet a bit if you find yourself in the area and in the need. Otherwise, for a more expansive city park experience, better to pan a visit to the English Gardens instead.

Surely a place to explore in munich ... Less crowded and u will have some quality time sitting here and looking at the place..

I would recommend the English garden over this any day but at least it has a nice fountain
