Open square surrounded by restaurants and cafes. Nice plan to chill out for a while before heading back into the shops or local sites. Kids will love the fountain!

A vast place with artificial made fountains and many stores/food shops nearby. on your way to marienplatz. you can enjoy sitting on the bank and have a cool feeling in the hot summer of munich.

It's a lovely place to be for those who don't mind crowded areas. In Munich, this place is where I felt like a local in front of the palace. There are these figurines on the castle that even move around but they only do so on a specific time, you could google about that. There are so many shops to buy stuff from; be it food, clothes, drinks or anything else. The Ali's döner shop is always crowded and that is so because it actually tastes good! We went to the tower of the palace and it just have the view of the munich 360°. I bought some souvenirs from the ticket shop too. There is a church nearby too. And a market with breads, food, cheese, Starbucks, Mcdonald's and many many other shops. It is fun to walk around and explore. We went there on Saturday afternoon and even though it was raining on and off all day, it was still crowded.

The arched gate is a nice entrance into the city center but the square itself was kind of disappointing. The fountain and its size felt a bit misplaced on a not so large square and it ruined the view a bit, in my opinion.

Most iconic place in town. Tourists from across globe come here and visit this place. Many shoping center on the way to Marienplatz. Also beautiful churches nearby.

One of the most touristic spot of Munich, located in the center of the city, commonly it is the meeting point for people, it is surrounded by many ancient bulidings and also many good bars, restaurant and shopping spots.
This plaece is always crowded and even local people like to hang out there or start their plans from here.
It is worth a visit.

It is a nice place, but a kind of crowded. There are some lateral streets very interesting and not crowded.
