This is how they withdraw your blood in this hospital. The second picture is 9 days after it happened and it still haven’t healed. Avoid at all costs. I hope I will never have to come back here and thanks for the blood cloth. Amazing work

I had a very good experience in the Helios clinic. All of the stuff were extremely nice, most of the nurses speak English. They try to make sure you are not in pain and you have everything you need. Also it was the only one clinic in Munich who took me with my condition right away, without making me wait for 2-3 months, and I am really happy about it.

recently I gave birth in this clinic. I’m private insured and I saw all the bills and the amounts were really huge. my insurance pays them of course, but why so expensive for such limited service. the midwife was nice, but a little bit too indifferent- but she did her job normally. the doctors were really indifferent. after the baby came out I insisted to wait until cord pulsates till the end, but midwife insisted on taking blood from it twice for unknown to me reason! no clarification! every visit after the birth (both doctors and midwifes) took maximum 3 minutes (I had no complications), but in the bills I see at least 15 minutes each time. also I had to come twice before the date, which I actually didn’t need and want, but it also costed some money. 900 Euro for midwifes, 1000 for hospital, 350 for separate room and 1000 for baby care I payed so far and may be even more comes. and now the worst thing for me - baby care. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days to make all exams for baby, not to go to pediatric or hno after. it’s my third child and I have some experience. each time they take the baby either I or my husband join, because otherwise the child care midwife’s simply give the baby a bottle without informing parents! because the don’t want to hear crying while they do their job.

I had a planned caesarean last week at Helios. Obviously it is not the hospital that most of the pregnant women in Munich would choose. I think Großhadern nearby would be a much popular choice.

But for me the story is different. First, I had a small operation here previously with Dr Mosner. He was brilliant and the recovery was incredibly fast. Second, when I visit their Kreißsaal team two months before the birth, I was impressed by Hebamme Frau Baumgartner, she speaks accent-free English and was super warm and accommodating. Third, comparing to big hospitals that specialise in giving birth (LMU-Frauenklinik, Frauenklinik Dr. Geisenhofer, Klinikum Dritter Orden) Personally I prefer smaller hospitals where it is much calmer and less chaotic and every time I visit Helios I cannot hear any traumatic screaming or moaning from the labour ward, only occasionally I hear baby crying.

My operation was with Dr Herrmann, she was warm and friendly. The operation went well and I spent one night at the normal room and three nights at the family room. During that time, I have met many different nurses and Hebamme, most of them were caring and nice, except one who insisted giving me a shower and as a result I passed out in the bathroom. But I don’t blame her too much, after all she did from a good intention, just a bit ignorant.

I was particularly impressed by the breastfeeding expert hebamme Frau Neumann, she was attentive and competent. She spent a long time with us explaining different techniques of how to increase breastfeeding and organised a pump for me right away. Since I gave birth to my first child in London, I truly feel the difference between German medical care and NHS. The hospital has almost everything that you need for the baby and breastfeeding. Pump, nursing pad, nipple soothing gel, pampers, milk bottles, wipes, aptamil formulas, bodies, sleeping bag (see pics) you name one, and I bet they will have it in storage. And most of the nurses are very generous. I am amazed and thinking back my time in Chelsea and Westminster hospital where I had to share a hot steamy room with five other new mums (and dads and babies)….. and no midwife offers me a bottle of formula when I couldn’t provide not a single drop for my baby after two days she lost so much weight….it was madness

On the other side, I also understand why a lot of people gave bad reviews to Helios, their ground floor registration desks are notorious for its long waiting time. We waited for almost two hours to register our child’e birth and for meeting the anaesthetist before we waited one hour. The food for the family room was quite good but you have to order one day before which was impossible when you just moved in, so we missed out for two days.(still have to pay) And the service lady is incredibly stubborn, we told her at least 4 times that we don’t eat cheese but she seemed never giving up….

Anyway, it is a shame such excellent doctors and medical care have been hold back by very basic services. Hopefully this will change in the future.

I want to thank everyone in this hospital for the excellent service and treatment. Even in these very difficult times with the pandemic, your help and support is invaluable. My special thanks also go to the gynecological department (Mrs. Eva and the young man), who looked after me so lovingly after my surgery. Greetings and best wishes to all of you.

If I could, I´d give them 0 stars.

My mother was sick and it was obvious that she had an internal bleeding. The doctor didn´t even take her blood WITH knowing that she had a desease. She just gave her a recipe for new antibiotika and sent her home. We´ve had some bad experiences in this hospital but nothing like this before.

Thank God she went to another hospital and they were just great. They checked her blood-examination figure and it was very low so she had to stay in the hospital for 3 days and they also did research the origin of the bleeding. Now she´s fine.
