Sorry to say that this was one of the worst museums I've ever seen. They might have a great library, but the exhibition itself was all about utensils, with a ridiculously small amount of information about flora, fauna and earth sciences. The 3D Multimedia stuff is just pointless and there seem to be no logic nor a clear plan on how things are laid out. It's just ill-considered, from an instructional perspective. The pictures that I've uploaded depict how geology is taken care of, and I guess they are self explanatory enough. Avoid.

A wonderful place on the banks of Isar . The museum is surrounded by a serene garden ideal for relaxing and enjoying a cup of coffee under the tall trees .

Small, all in German but interesting if you want to see the history of mountaineering of the area.

Do yourself a favor and go sit at the café in the back. It's magical.
The museum itself is well maintained and if the subject interests you, you already know you're going.

All posters are both in German and English - history of DAV (mountaineering association), general information about Bavarian and Austrian Alps, beautiful paintings.

Was no option to get in with baby stroller due to high metal stair at the entrance. Personnel rudely refused to help and engage the lift for handicapped people.

A history of the dav alpine huts. Hey interesting since we had stayed at a few. I was hoping a little more history on alpine hiking/climbing that went beyond dav.
