Spoiled and chemically preserved fish

I brought Doraden twice and first time quality of only one fish was below average.

But last time, on 09.12.21, I travelled 90 kilometers to buy one whole packet (6kg) of same fish, expecting at least quality of last time and my experience was horrible.

I got information that, I need to pay €35 for 6kg and I agreed and Thay started searching for unopened packet and told they don't have any of them and they gave me an offer as already cleaned packet of fish for the same price and I agreed.

Staff came out with one packet and started shifting fish to one plastic cover for my easiness. Immediately after seeing that, the man in charge rush to him and told him to wash before giving to me and he told me the reason as "the fish is full of blood!!!" and I was really surprised. They washed each and every fish and gave me the packet.

I didn't experience any fish smell and some sort of chemical smell was there ( they were cleaning the floor before I get inside and I thot that the smell is because of the same). I started driving back to my home and I felt the same smell once I reached home and I kept the packet inside the deep freezer, to use it later.

Next day I opened the packet and cooked two of them. Usual fish smell was not there and I immediately understood that the fish were already spoiled and are not edible.

I felt that they cleaned and kept the same along with some chemicals to avoid it from changing the shape and washed prior to delivery for removing the same. But taste of chemical and the taste of spoiled fish can be experienced, once you started cooking and cannot eat the same under any circumstances.

I advise each and everyone not to buy already cleaned fish from them, since they are doing the same, once the fish started to decompose. And always vigilant and careful with them.

Large selection of fresh fish with excellent customer service. Prices are really good since they opened not long ago. Yes, they clean the fish for you. The entire place is spotless with no fish smell.
In the freezer section, they have ginormous scrimps, scallops, and more.
