I visited Leipzig with my wife and we both enjoyed it very much. I was surprised at how many shops there were. The were some many side streets and interesting corners. The most interesting thing were the old buildings which I later found out some had been reconstructed after the war. Well they did a good job. Amazing place and worth a visit.

the historical center of the city contains its charm and calm, even most of the buildings were completely renovated or reconstructed after the war. der Markt is a must visit area indeed, and it is still works as a real marketplace on weekdays with decent produce

At about 7PM the place is not as busy anymore and the shops are closing (they mostly close at 8 or sooner). The buildings are definitely magnificent though and there are a lot of shopping opportunities around the place. A good place for a nice walk but you can also find a lot of public transport nearby.

Stalls and live music from 11.00-20.00 during the week. Lots of Bars and restaurants around the square and surrounding streets. City centre is generally car free, good shopping, in the main streets and well restored passages where not only the usual stores are to found but also a lot of independant shops, unusual for a city centre. night out too.

A must see when in Leipzig. The farmers market was on. Some really delicious food on display. Lots of Leipzigs history to see in the museum. Nice little shops and a very lively atmosphere around the place. Many restaurants and pubs are in the close vicinity.
