Chanced upon this very pretty restaurant while looking for a place to chill on a Sunday evening after dinner in Heidelberg and was immediately attracted to the warm ambience of this place. We had some drinks and a dessert which we thought is very special - lemon sherbet in sparkling wine. It was so relaxing sipping the wine and watching people walk by. Thanks to a very friendly staff who made out visit very pleasant. I will
Definitely go back there again for their food before leaving Heidelberg.

Ended up here because it was the only restaurant with tables available in a Sunday night! Staff was very welcoming. They serve good traditional German options and have a good selection of beers and wines. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and sitting outside looking at people passing by in a warm summer evening

Came by the restaurant for lunch one day.

Did not disappoint - everything was delicious, huge portions and very filling. Great place in the middle of the old town for lunch.

Rude and threatening staff - old man with the grey ponytail! After a bit of a wait, I ordered a pasta and a half-litre of beer, and when I asked for tap water to go along with it the waiter declined and said I had to order a bottle of water. I politely agreed but then he proceeded to spend the rest of my meal shouting and complaining about me to his staff. And every time he walked past my table he gave me threatening looks. The pub looks great, but the food was mediocre and service was atrocious. The only thing I think this Kneipe is good for is ‘Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen Albträume (nightmares in German)’!

We ate at the restaurant, didn't stay at the hotel. The service was absolutely terrible, we asked if the fried fish could be grilled and she said ok then still proceeded to bring fried fish. After that she went and got the menu to show us that it's fried and we repeated that we asked her for grilled and she said ok, then she said ok and took away the dish. We sat and waited until the other waiter came back because we assumed she meant she's gonna go change the dish, he told us we don't have grilled fish. They never even asked if we wanted something else, didn't tell us that they're not changing the dish, just made us sit there. There was no communication barrier because she understood us perfectly on everything else we said. And the rest of the food wasn't good anyway.

We went into the restaurant and got our worst experience ever. Unfriendly host, my steak was swimming in onions and my friend got cold meat noodles. Definitely not coming back here

Highly recommend this place when you stay in Heidelberg ???????? not only is it in the middle of the old town, but also close to the old bridge and castle. The room Bellevue has a beautiful view to the castle and is a place where you can rest and forget about the stressful days you had in the past. Also the food in the restaurant is delicious and represents the local cuisine. All in all a 5star stay and worth repeating ????????
