here is one of the first recessions as a real "local guide". My better half and I were invited to the opening of keQ (the name means “not a cow” by the way) via a competition on Instagram and we were able to try the entire range for free. Of course, the recession was not bought, we were only invited to eat ice cream.

At this point, a thank you to the keQ for the opportunity to test eat and get to know the head ice cream maker Arno personally.

The recession can be viewed from two perspectives. My better half, known on Instagram as @caros_soulkitchen, as vegan-friendly and I as "everything eater" - we are both ice cream lovers and have already eaten our way through various ice cream parlors in Hanover, Germany and Europe.

Before evaluating the most important things. Despite the bad weather, the opening was a complete success. The keQ team made a friendly, courteous and competent impression. The location itself, probably due to the opening, is still very rudimentary, we hope to be able to sit outside in the sun soon.

Since the ice cream parlor is quite small, the selection remains modest - especially in relation to these large ice cream chains that are now everywhere. Here we see in particular the charm of classic craftsmanship and the love that was put into each individual ice cream flavor. We were able to test our way through 10 (or 11?!?) varieties.

To the ice cream:
My better half was very impressed by all the vegan ice cream and already speaks of the best vegan ice cream parlor in Hanover. Quite comparable or even better than the vegan varieties of the popular Friolie ice cream parlor in Hanover Linden Mitte. Her favorites were clearly hazelnut, poppy seed marzipan and chocolate - another insider tip is the chocolate sauce, which you should definitely try!

From my "everything eater" perspective, not all varieties come close to the "non-vegan originals" - but this is in relation to good ice cream (e.g. Frioli). Of course the comparison is flawed. For example, the vanilla ice cream or the yoghurt-lemon ice cream was not strong enough for my taste and you could tell that the "real cream" was missing. Other varieties, on the other hand, have also completely convinced me as an omnivore, so after the 11 scoops I actually got another scoop of pistachio ice cream - which from my perspective is the highlight of the range. I found out here that organic pistachios are used for the pistachio ice cream, which, in combination with the vegan substitute products, reproduce the full taste of the pistachios. Full marks from me for this, great ice cream! The presented sorbets also convinced me.

In summary, it can be said that keQ represents real culinary added value in Hanover for vegetarians and vegans and also has a lot to offer for "eat-alls"!

Addendum: Oat, soy and lupine products are mainly used for the production, coconut milk is not used for reasons of sustainability. From my perspective, this is also a big plus for everyone who doesn't like the coconut aftertaste that you often have with vegan ice cream. With coconut ice cream, of course, it's something different ✌????

We will definitely stop by there more often and wish the newly minted ice cream experts all the best and much success!

hier mal eine der ersten Rezession als echter „Local Guide“. Über ein Gewinnspiel auf Instagram wurden meine bessere Hälfte und ich zur Eröffnung von keQ (Der Name bedeutet übrigens „keine Kuh“) eingeladen und konnten uns gratis durch das gesamte Sortiment probieren. Natürlich ist die Rezession nicht gekauft, wir wurden nur zum Eisessen eingeladen.

An dieser Stelle ein Dankeschön an das keQ für die Möglichkeit des Testessens und das persönliche Kennenlernen mit dem Chef-Eismacher Arno.

Die Rezession kann hierbei aus zwei Perspektiven betrachtet werden. Meine bessere Hälfte, bekannt bei Instagram als @caros_soulkitchen, als vegan-freundlich und ich als „Alles-Esser“ - wir beide sind Eisliebhaber und haben uns schon durch diverse Eisdielen in Hannover, Deutschland und Europa gegessen.

Bevor es zur Bewertung des Wichtigsten kommt. Die Öffnung war trotz durchwachsenden Wetters ein voller Erfolg. Das keQ-Team hat einen freundlichen, zuvorkommenden und kompetenten Eindruck hinterlassen. Die Location an sich, vermutlich aufgrund der Eröffnung, ist noch sehr rudimentär, wir hoffen hier auf baldige Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen in der Sonne.

Da die Eisdiele recht klein ist, bleibt auch die Auswahl bescheiden - vor allen im Verhältnis zu diesen großen Eisketten, die es mittlerweile überall gibt. Wobei wir hier im Besonderen den Charme des klassischen Handwerks sehen und die Liebe die in jede einzelne Eisorte gesteckt wurde. Wir konnten uns durch 10 (oder 11?!?) Sorten testen.

Zum Eis:
Meine bessere Hälfte war sehr angetan von dem ganzen veganen Eis und spricht schon von der besten veganen Eisdiele in Hannover. Durchaus vergleichbar oder sogar besser, als die veganen Sorten der so beliebten Friolie Eisdiele in Hannover Linden Mitte. Ihre Favoriten waren ganz klar Haselnuss, Mohn Marzipan und Schokolade - Ein Geheimtipp ist zudem die Schokoladensoße, welche man unbedingt probieren sollte!

Aus meiner „Alles Esser“-Perspektive, kommen nicht alle Sorten an die „nicht veganen Originale“ heran - dies allerdings in Bezug auf gutes Eis (z.B. Frioli). Natürlich hinkt der Vergleich. So war beispielsweise das Vanilleeis oder das Jogurt-Zitroneneis für meinen Geschmack nicht kräftig genug und man merkte, dass die „echte Sahne“ fehlte. Andere Sorten hingegen haben auch mich als Allesfresser vollends überzeugt, so habe ich mir nach den 11 Kugeln tatsächlich noch eine Kugel Pistazien Eis geholt - welches aus meiner Perspektive das Highlight im Sortiment darstellt. Ich habe hier erfahren, dass für das Pistazien-Eis Bio Pistazien verwendet werden, welche in Kombination mit den veganen Ersatzprodukten den vollen Geschmack der Pistazien wiedergeben. Hierfür von mir volle Punktzahl, großartiges Eis! Auch die vorgestellten Sorbets haben mich überzeugt.

Zusammengefasst lässt sich festhalten, dass das keQ für Vegetarier und Veganer einen echten kulinarischen Mehrwert in Hannover darstellt und auch für „Alles-Esser“ einiges zu bieten hat!

Nachtrag: Für die Herstellung werden vor allem Hafer-, Soja- und Lupinenprodukte verwendet, aus Nachhaltigkeitsgründen wird auf Kokosmilch verzichtet. Dies ist aus meiner Perspektive auch ein großes Plus, für alle die den Kokosnachgeschmack den man oft bei veganen Eis hat nicht mögen. Bei Kokoseis ist das natürlich was anderes ✌????

Wir werden bestimmt öfters dort vorbeischauen und wünschen den frischgebackenen Eisexperten alles Gute und viel Erfolg!

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal dort. Die Auswahl ist gut und das Eis sehr lecker. Auch die Waffel vom Becher war lecker. Für mich war es das erste bewusst vegane Eis. Einen Unterschied zu anderem Eis konnte ich so direkt nicht erschm ecken. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Ambiente war angenehm. Sehr gut, dass bargeldlose Zahlung möglich ist.

Leider waren nur noch 4 Sorten vorhanden. Unsere Wahl viel auf Stracciatella und weiße Schokolade. Beide haben eigentlich nur nach Hafermilch geschmeckt. Das Eis war nicht wirklich gut gefroren und daher waren die Kugeln echt sehr klein für je 2 €. Wir werden es in 2 Monaten nochmal probieren, vielleicht schmecken intensivere Sorten weniger nach Hafer und es ist ein bisschen eingespielter.

Endlich! Ein rein pflanzlicher Eisladen :)
Eis schmeckt super, freundliche MA, regional und umweltbewusst. Genial.

Wer hier meckert, dass alles zu sehr nach Hafer schmeckt, muss leider anerkennen zu lange auf tierische Milch angewiesen gewesen zu sein.
Preise vollkommen okay bei den genannten Punkten :)
