Nice old building with many sculptures above the entrance. Just in front of it there is a very beautiful citrus garden with a fountain.

I visited the Schloss Herrenhausen Museum as part of visiting the Herrenhausen gardens. I really wanted to visit to see the former royal palace of the usurper House of Hanover. The visit can be roughly divided into three portions. The origin and history of the House of Hanover, the Herrenhausen gardens and pleasure gardens in general, and the period during the reign of the Hanoverians.

Lots of high quality exhibits to see, although the majority of the labels and descriptions were in German. Only about a quarter had any English. What was there was well written and informative. It was still worth visiting anyway as the entrance is only a couple of euros more than the price of the gardens.
