Murdered forced workers. We stumbled across the graveyard by chance. It's really quite moving especially when you realise the ages of the victims. Some would be classed as children nowadays and some prisoners of war. They, numbering 154, were killed, on the morning of April 6th 1945, by the Gestapo, less than 24 hours before American soldiers arrived in Hannover in a deliberate act of senseless vengeance. By this time the war was already lost for Germany. It's very sad that such acts of cruelty were and are still done around the world.
