Without the doubt the best Chinese restaurant in the City!! The food is just spectacular and sooo authentic… a wide range of drinks (alcohol, softs, hot, warm, local and from around the world, whatever you like). The whole place is absolutely beautiful and with a great history! There’s a nice and spacious patio outside and to put a cherry on the cake - this place is really affordable! Well recommend!!

Excellent atmosphere! The cuisine was also very tasty. I was first going to order some chicken with no sauce, but somehow the staff knew that I‘d prefer the dish with sauce, and gave proper recommendation, which I appreciated a lot. Great hospitality!

Very original Chinese food in a very elegant atmosphere! Most of the food tasted really like in China like the duck. It is definitely more expensive compared with other restaurants but worth trying it. The only thing that I didn’t like was that we waited a little bit too long for the food.

I was here with a conference group and we used a lovely upstairs room for the meetings and had breaks in the Red Chamber. The interiors radiate a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were very helpful. Also, the tea selection was amazing. I also enjoyed our lunch with reasonably-sized dishes. The dinner, however, was a bit of a shock. We got huge plates of tofu and meat with virtually no vegetables and a lot of rice. Although the meats, prawns and tofu were nicely seasoned, it was impossible for most of us to eat so much at a time, and I asked for a doggy bag. A lot of food went to the bin, however, which is really sad. So catering more to European tastes and expectations, the dishes on the dinner menu might become more "diverse" and include more veg. Otherwise this was a lovely experience.

The place’s reputation precedes itself. The Mu-Err cold dish (Vorspeise), shrimp and veggie buns/dumplings (Teigtaschen), Chicken feet/claws were excellent. Strong recommendation!

The Ambiente is really nice, the food authentic and the staff very friendly. But it's on the expensive side, also it is a bit slow, we've waited at least 15 minutes to get the menu. But the building itself (the old Konfuzius institute of Hamburg) is a really great location, definitely worth a visit, even if you don't eat here!
