Visited on a Monday (17 Oct 22). Busy but not packed. Entry ticket €5 and you get a sachet of ( in my case) black pepper corns. Incredibly interesting to see the history of spices and where they are grown. Uses and applications. Not just for cooking.

A very disappointing museum. We arrived there and there was four stairs to climb, in a building. when we wanted to get our tickets they only accepted cash. when we got our tickets the museum was very crowded with stuff and you can’t actually see or enjoy it.
The audio tour was not very informative. The place is very small to call a museum.
If you are interested in spices and want to buy I suggest that you go to the shop and buy without bothering to enter the museum and waste your money.

Really cool museum right at the heart of "Speicherstadt". Lovely details and a cool Audioguide. You can learn a lot about the history and use of spices.
Prices for entry and in the shop are fair.
P.s. if you're looking for a nice souvenir for your loved ones, that's your goto spot.

It was definitely interesting to learn about spices and how they are produced and which region they originated. You can taste some samples and definitely buy many different types of spices including rare ones such as Tonka bean or different types of pepper. What I didn't like was the fact that you can pay only by cash even if they are offering so many things to sell. When we asked if we can pay by card the woman at the desk told us: "we are a museum and don't accept any card. " Which doesn't make any sense when you have half a shop and half of museum. Anyways it was nice to check it out.

Interesting little museum, a good time killer. You can smell and touch all different kinds of spices. Had a lot of nostalgic old spice containers - really enjoyed that. Has large gift shop for the size of the museum.

My highlight was the Barack Obama hot sauce ????

Big variety of spices and details. My problem was that the attendant of the spice shop had no fluency in English, which was expected for a place that receive a lot of foreign people.
