It used to be much better. The place is nice and the cake is very good. However, the service was horrible, the staff was rude. We waited for 20 minutes and no one came to ojr table, we called for them multiple times, they said we will be there in a sec with a lot of attitude. They then served some people who were after us. We left after around 25 min waiting. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but honestly, this is not how you treat people, let alone clients.

We quickly ordered coffee and sat down. Our neighboring table, on the other hand, was given more time to choose, even though it came after us. Unfortunately they forgot my companion's coffee.
Since the breakfast (and the cake) was - as always - really tasty, we still recommend the Schmidt u0026 Schmidtchen! The quality of the products is pretty good and nothing to complain about so far. In addition, everyone is allowed to have a bad day... Since you can buy some of the products in the café to take home, we always stock up on the chocolate and tonka bean spread before we go home ???? (shipping would be cool ????). The employees are always super friendly too!

Eine Freundin hat uns das Café Schmidt an der Elbe empfohlen. Der Laden hat wirklich Flair und ist super schön! Wir gehen dort immer wieder gerne zum Abschluss unserer Reise frühstücken (das Kapitänsfrühstück ist wirklich zu empfehlen! ) und nehmen uns dann noch ein Stück Kuchen mit an den Niederrhein.

Heute kamen wir kurz vor Ende der Frühstückszeit, hatten aber noch die Möglichkeit ein Frühstück zu bestellen. Leider konnten wir nicht in Ruhe auswählen, denn bevor wir uns setzten, meinte der Kellner schon "Nehmt doch das Kapitänsfrühstück" und nahm das dann sofort auch so auf (versteht mich nicht falsch, wir mögen das, aber selber auswählen wäre eben schöner). Wir bestellten dann noch schnell Kaffee und setzen uns. Unserem Nachbartisch hingegen wurde mehr Zeit für die Auswahl eingeräumt, obwohl dieser nach uns kam. Leider hat man dann auch den Kaffee meiner Begleitung vergessen.
Da das Frühstück (und der Kuchen) aber - wie immer - richtig lecker war bzw. waren, empfehlen wir das Schmidt u0026 Schmidtchen trotzdem! Die Qualität der Produkte ist ziemlich gut und es gab bisher nichts auszusetzen. Außerdem darf jeder mal einen schlechten Tag haben... Da man einige der Produkte im Café für Zuhause erwerben kann, kaufen wir den Schoko- und den Tonka-Bohnen-Aufstrich vor der Heimfahrt immer auf Vorrat ???? (Versand wäre cool ????). Auch die Mitarbeiter sind immer super freundlich!
