Definitely a hidden gem on the east side of town. Had the bimbimbap and it was delicious! Tasted like I just had a home cooked meal from an auntie.

Will come back to try their buffet selection! ☺️

Highly recommend the buffet!! Really affordable and rich electives. But it’s better to reserve in advance, otherwise there are no places to offer or have to wait for one hour

Kimchi is a very cozy place in a fairly crowded street in Hamburg. It's a small business that is run by a family and the main highlight is affordability and cleanness.
We went there for the buffet and it was descent, but the options were limited.the quality of the food was good but i would have wished for more options, that is kind of the bottleneck here.
To be fair, overall it's still a recommendation from me.

The place is extremely nice. Starting with the food, which was very delicious, followed by the pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Lunch Buffet was wonderful! Selection of Sushi was good, and the Korean Banchan selection was even better! Everything was cooked to perfection. Classics like Kimchi pork belly, Korean fried chicken, Japchae were included. We're very satisfied :) Saw alot of Asians there, which speaks for itself about the authenticity of flavours.

I recommend you to not judge the restaurant by its exterior or interior, you'll be satisfied with their authentic Korean food????????

Ok so I went for their lunch buffet (10€ on Tues/Thurs/Saturday). 10€ for a lunch buffet is an ok price in HH. And it was...good. I'm giving 4 stars because they had a table full of salads that were pretty tasty! And it's nice to see lots of veggie options. They also had some delicious honey chicken wings on offer. The actual sushi was terrible. Just being honest - old and cheap and poorly made. But there were enough other dishes available that it's worth a try. Just don't go for the sushi.

Quintessence:

This is not your typical fancy-schmancy restaurant. It's self-service and the furniture is very simple, but the food is quite nice.

In detail:

This restaurant looks from the outside as well as inside quite plain. On their menu they have a selection of sushi and Korean dishes. Every Tuesday and Saturday (and I think also on Thursdays) they have a buffet from 12:00-15:00. As an adult you pay 10 Euros.

When we walked inside the restaurant we didn't know it was self-service until we saw a sheet of paper at the bar. So we ordered some sushi and fried mandu and got ourselves some drinks. The fried mandu came first, but there were only 12 dumplings on our plate despite being stated as 15 on the menu. So we asked the staff and they apologised and brought us more than the missing 3 dumplings, which was a kind gesture.

The mandu were good, but unfortunately they were not as crispy and they were served with a sweet chili sauce instead of a traditional Korean sauce made of soy sauce, vinegar, toasted sesame, spring onion and chili. The sushi was not outstanding but good nonetheless.

It was not very crowded in the restaurant when we had dinner there and hence it was pretty quiet.
