We went around 6.30 pm and there was a lot of tables available so that was nice. My bf ordered a hot dog and was very happy with it, said the meat and bread were both delicious. We went there specifically because we saw there were vegan options for me, but I was a bit disappointed that the only vegan meat for the 3 vegan hot dogs was the same, and it felt more like a giant falafel than a sausage (especially now that there are so many great alternatives for vegan sausages!) Other than that everything was delicious, though a bit expensive. Nice experience but not sure I'd come back.

This is a superb spot for indulging in comfort food like burgers, hotdogs, fries and milk shakes. Good value, delicious food and great times await you as a gastronomic adventurer!

This Hook Dogs is conveniently located near Altona S-Bahn train station (easily walkable). Ikea is just a stone's throw away too, perfect for that post-meal walk to aid digestion (and shop for furniture while you're at it).

I absolutely love their lightly toasted burger buns and would almost always opt for their sweet potato fries as a side dish.

The place is extremely tastefully decorated, with fish nets sprawling across the ceiling, Ship's wheels adorned the walls of the establishment, to complete the nautical theme of the restaurant. If you pay attention, there's even ambient sounds of the sea being played in the toilets! Talk about the incredible amount of details placed into setting up the restaurant.

The food was absolutely amazing like I mean it was so good I didn't want to stop eating I chose a chocolate shake it was amazing there was chocolate on the bottom and and ice cream and three small cookies and a donut. And a warm chocolate drink and they came with a little bag so that man could pour the chocolates in the milk and a piece of chocolate on the side. And my dad choose a ginger pineapple drink and it was awesome and then we ate some nachos and they came with a tray of nachos and some cheese on the side so that you could dip the nachos in the cheese and the waiters and the bartender was really friendly. The food was cheap like six, seven, eight, nine euro but it tasted so freaking awesome. And the room that man ate in was really beautiful and comfy and romantic it is a perfect spot for dates or to eat with your friend's or with your family. And the toilets were really beautiful and hygienist there. And men and handicappers and women shared the same place to wash their hands. And they had a DJ and a bar but I don't know how they did it but it just matched together and, you could also make the food come to you (I forgot what its called) and there was a man that would drive out to you with the food. And there was this theme of the sea with some plants and some wood but it was really comfy in there I mean everything was perfect and when we ordered something it came to us in three minutes. And god its was absolutely perfect

Delicious sausages (you can choose between beef or poultry, they even have vegetarian sausages and fit sausages). You can also choose your bun. The place has a beautiful design, and very friendly staff.
Food is delicious and portions are really big - a portion of fries is more than enough for two people. I had a hot dog with beef sausage, grilled pineapple, ham and it was absolutely delicious. I had to eat it with a fork and a knife though as the mango sauce was all around it plus the bun sort of fell apart. But the other hot dog we ordered was just fine to eat with your hands so I am not going to take any stars for that.
All in all - a place absolutely worth a recommendation.
p.s. even though they don't have a Heissezitrone on the menu they can make it really, really good - they saved my life a little on one very cold and very windy Saturday :)

Edit December 2018:
The menu has unfortunately worsened. They gave in and are now serving burgers as well. Which is fine but meh.

They also removed the ability to order home made lemonade in the lunch menu and got rid off the whole grain bread as well.

Original Review:

Large selection, friendly service and good taste. Nothing to complain about. Also as far as I know the first of its kind in Hamburg and finally not yet another burger joint.

Great food but unfortunately the staff were a little bit sour. Would be nice to smile and also short changed us cause she said she had no money...

Went for a milkshake and was not disappointed. Great flavor, not too sweet, great presentation and delicious! Can't wait to taste the main course!
