Very raw and nice experience. Interesting for a toddler that has passion for trains. We were not allow to go on the Peking Ship with the kid. Nice applecake at a good price . Overall a good place for 2h with a toddler.

If you are looking for a traditional museum where everything is nicely exposed, the Hafenmuseum is maybe not your cup of tea. If you don't mind strolling around in a warehouse with fascinating objects, this is the place to be !:)
Unfortunately all the descriptions are in German only.
The Peking cannot be visited currently due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Fantastic Museum!
There are loads of interesting things to see and do here. Learn about Hamburg industiral harbour history. Board old ships and explore them on your own. There are old cranes, different railroad wagons, steam powered ships and plenty of historical maritime items. I got a personal guided tour of MS Bleichen. Thank you for that. I had a really nice day here. Highly recommended and should not be missed if you visit Hamburg.

Very interesting Museum. It has some nice old train cars from many years ago and let the guests really see the old mechanisms that were used back then. It also has some nice old ships and grants an amazing view upon the harbour and City Centre with all its Church Towers.

A unique and must see place if time allows for a visit. The boats and the equipment are worthwhile seeing and you may also appreciate the views to a part of Hamburg harbor otherwise a bit hidden.

Frankly, some will find the museum as full of junk. But in reality this is the heritage to built on, a great work of Hamburgers remembering their history and passing it on to next generations.
