We were lucky enough to have great weather, so we got to enjoy the wonderful outdoor seating. The food was great as always, and the service attentive and with a local touch. This is a hidden gem, I couldn't recommend it more.

Very poor vegetarian selection (only 1 dish) beside the sushi menu. No reusable chopsticks. Nice outside dining area.

Great place for lunch and dinner, mostly traditional food with a touch of fancyness tending towards sofistication. The taste of food is very stimulating, although the portion is not for hungry monsters. All kinds of meat are offered including wild animals like red deer etc., but also some fish dishes in traditional Hamburg and other known recipes. Heavily decorated with animal heads, traditional look and feel, a lot of wine bottles in the walls. Oddly enough a weird combination with variety of sushi rolls. The place offers a lot of tables, very large groups should have a reservation though. Outside parking lot available although not too large and lacking some asphalt. I would recommend this place for lovers of traditional food who appreciates quality above quantity.

I arrived at Wattkorn, and one of the waitresses took me on as a special guest, because I spoke no German and she spoke English. She and the rest of the waitstaff were extremely kind and willing to make a special effort to help me.
The place is very interesting, decorated with many hunting trophies.
The beer and wine were good.
The food was great, specializing in wild game. I was there in the Spring and they had a special menu of fresh asparagus. I had asparagus with new potatoes, and damwild venison with a rich dark demiglace sauce. Red table wine was available by the glass.
The food was lovely, the service was excellent and I had a very nice evening.
If I manage to travel back to Hamburg, I'll certainly visit again.

German cuisine with a sophisticated touch, super fresh ingredients and the meat coming from local game farms. Unique combination of honest u0026 hearty old-school dishes with modern u0026 lighter sushi/sashimi offering allows both the big guys and slim ladies to be happy! Garden in the summer is a dream on sunny days while inside is super cozy. They take all credit cards.

Very good food but at the same time quite expensive too. The style of the restaurant is Bavarian and does not match the style of the food.
