My child was born here. And they take care of everything. A very good hospital in terms of caring for children and new mothers. They asked what type of birth would I like to have. They explained everything very well. I still remember the Hebamme ( Mid wife) during my delivery, she was the best, anyone could ask for. She helped me throughout and explained and guided me everything during the process.
Most of the staff here could speak English and if not fluently, at least they try to communicate it to their patients. The doctors could speak very good English. Highly recommended especially if you would like to give birth.

My wife gave birth here to our newborn. As a father of 7 childs I can compare the professional attitude with other hospitals. This was by fare the best positive atmosphere compared to other Hospitals in hamburg even under corona conditions - Respect ! - Strong recommendation!

Sadly very disappointed especially as it was recommended. As my German is not so clever a member of the reception staff made it so awkward with her attitude towards me. I was meant to have my operation Monday, but now cancelled it because of her. We should all be treated the same, regardless!

Let down by some extremely rude and dismissive doctors. Always had bad experiences here. If AK Barmbek was the last hospital in Germany I would rather run to Switzerland.

The staff is very friendly, helping u0026 caring, most people know English as well and even if some who don't, try to help in the possible way. Found the doctors also very good, they give proper time and discuss things in detail answering all your questions.

AWFUL!! I arrived at the Emergency Room around 22:45 in the evening. Although I was taken in quite quickly, the nurses and doctor show no empathy or compassion while treating you. The callous nurse hit a nerve while trying to give me the medicine in my (good) vein. It hurt so much I screamed and cried so she took it out and tried on the other side where there was absolutely no problem. I find it terrible that one is treated without compassion and NOT informed about what they are doing with you. I had to ask every time they put a needle in me to find out exactly what they were pumping into me (I had a bad allergic reaction and had a horrible red itchy rash all over my body). A good nurse/doctor always explains what and why they are doing a particular procedure and carry it out with accuracy and compassion. I was totally conherent so no reason they couldn't have VOLUNTEERED the information!!!! I was on a bed in the VERY noisy hallway for 5 hours (11pm to 4 am). No one ever bothered to give me water, take my boots or glasses off and I had to ask for a blanket. Will never go there again!!! From the mixed reviews here it seems the only thing they do well is deliver babies but one should never go their emergency room!
