Came here for the Black Forest gateau as saw lots of positive reviews. I was not disappointed! Polite staff, nice little cafe and portion size was very good. Price was a bit expensive but overall worth it.

This is a busy cafe not far from the Freiburg Munster. You order your cake at the main cake display and take your ticket to your table, where you order drinks. The service was nice and the cake was one of the best we have tried so far.

This was a delicious expereince! Photo features the black forest cake and dark chocolate gelato! If you're looking for a local treat then I would definitely recommend giving this place a go ????

Everytime i visit freiburg, Schmidt cafe is always in my check list specially for its Blackforest cake ????. I highly recommend this place to try variety of cakes, coffee, hot chocolate. Service is fast and friendly. It closes around 6 pm. The blackforest cake is super soft and so tasty, must try.

Best place to eat Black forest Cake.
Cake is so perfect it literally melts in mouth and staff working are also very sweet. Definitely recommend everyone to try it.

Had a great breakfast here. Authentic food, great meat and cheese and fresh baked bread. Excellent coffee and different kinds of hot chocolate. Very kind and polite staff.
Too bad you couldn't order your egg soft boiled. The freshly pressed orange juice was a bit overpriced but tasted very well.

Delicious black forest cake. Also try the chocolate covered cherries with kirsch water in them, amazing.
