We had a good time at the Mercure Hotel in Freiburg. There is the possibility to leave the car in the underground parking for 9.50 euro from 6pm to 9am, and then 1.8 euro for every additional hour. The bar is open till midnight. Rooms are big enough, clean, and the staff is very friendly. One thing they could improve is the cleaning of the common areas (entrance and corridors). Recommended for it's position!

We had a warm welcome and had a complimentary upgrade to a room with balcony from where one can enjoy the great view of old town. The amenities and fittings are modern, overall we had a comfortable stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed the location in Freiburg and the wonderful breakfast. The room, however, smelled of smoke.

Nice hotel with good view of the munster not so happy with the restaurant, but you can go across the street to find delicious food.

As a reply to the question below. We wanted to eat in the afternoon with our 1 year old son. The only place we could get food in your hotel after lunch was in something more looking like a bar. It was nice food but not so practical

Room size is tiny for the price. The Photos posted in booking websites are taken from wide angle, so don't get fooled by it.

When we arrived for the first time, we found its difficult to find the entrance of hotel. Again don't get fooled by the Karlsbau picture. It's the photo of the shopping mall where the hotel is present and it's not the photo of the hotel itself. By seeing the photo of big building, I thought I could find the entrance easily but it's not the case.

During such pandemic situation, I expect a proper hand wash in sink, instead a small soap is present. For this price why can't the hotel afford a small hand wash, could not understand. I had to buy my own hand wash at the end.

When you acclaim to be three star hotel I expect Minibar/refrigerator, but I was shocked to know it's not present.

Sofa bed is uncomfortable to sleep.

Shower and smart TV are the positives I liked. I could mirror my phone to enjoy my fav Netflix series.

Overall it's a below average experience for me. Not recommended by me at least.

I had a pleasant experience at Mercure Hotel Freiburg. The location is perfect and getting to either the train station or city centre takes less than 15mins walk. The room and bathroom was neat. The view from my window was overlooking the hill and I couldn't have asked for a better view. The receptionists were patient and kind too. Overall, I had a great time.

Basic but functional hotel. Quite a walk from the station. We were in a renovated room. If anything the room was too hot and there was no minibar/fridge. Windows were locked so unable to get any ventilation. Nevertheless it was clean and tidy and a decent bed for the night. I suspect the renovation work not quite complete and we weren't tempted to eat there. Although I mentioned quite a walk from the station it was very close to the Christmas markets.
