Rooms were basic and very cold. Reminded me of college dorms. Bathrooms very small. Staff was super friendly and loved the breakfast food options! Loved their hotel dog too!

Das Hotel Oehler in Essen... War für drei Tage meine Unterkunft für die Nacht. Habe mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt und eine gute Zeit gehabt. Das Zimmer, wie auch das ganze Hotel war sauber und ordentlich. Das Bett weich und bequem. Im Zimmer selbst war eine Nasszelle mit WC untergebracht nebst kleinem Schreibtisch und TV. Da das Hotel über kein Restaurant verfügt gingen wir deshalb auswärts essen, eine Bar jedoch ist vorhanden und wird von dem sehr freundlichen Hotelbesitzer betrieben. Einen Frühstücksservice bietet das Hotel an, für meine Ansprüche hat nichts gefehlt. Frisches Obst und Joghurt sowie Brot mit allen möglichen Variationen an Aufstrich samt Müsli und tagesaktuellen Zeitungen. Eine Empfehlung für einen Kurztrip oder kurze Geschäftsreise, gut zu erreichen und mit direktem Parkplatz hinter dem Haus.

Positiv zu bewerten ist die zentrale Lage, verschiedene Speisemöglichkeiten in der Nähe des Hotels, es war relativ gut sauber und das Frühstück war für den Preis vollkommen ausreichend und zufriedenstellend.
Negativ zu bewerten ist: alles ziemlich veraltet (ehemaliges Mietshaus, düster im Flur), Teppichbodenbelag im Zimmer - sehr unhygienisch, keine Trinkgläser auf dem Zimmer, kein Fön, sehr weiche Matratzen und weiches Lattenrost, Steckdosen im Zimmer sehr rar, keine Heizung im Bad, Toilettenbrille war zu klein (man sitzt mit den Beinen auf dem Keramik der Toilette). Am besten 00-Papier unter die Brille Klopapier legen ;-). Insgesamt würde ich hier nicht von einem Hotel (wo man doch etwas mehr Ambiente und Wohnatmosphäre erwartet) sondern eher von einer Pension sprechen. Wir haben für zwei Personen über 80 EUR gezahlt zzgl. Frühstück und das finde ich für dieses Ambiente schon ziemlich deftig. Aus diesem Grund würde ich hier nicht mehr buchen.
