After a short drive I arrived with some happy expectations, because I had already seen the menu online.

The first impression of the restaurant was similar to an inn in Vienna, quite simple but clean! Since I arrived very early, I was also the only guest.

I had made the choice beforehand, it should be a pancake soup and a Wiener Schnitzel. I didn't want to commit myself to the dessert because I didn't know the size of the portions.

The soup was excellent, the pancakes were homemade, and the soup itself was strong and flavorful. The schnitzel well pounded and the meat quality very good. The breading alone was a little dry and stuck to the meat. I assume that these schnitzels were previously prepared in bulk and par-fried and then finished fried. In my opinion, the potato salad could have used a little more bite.

Of course you shouldn't imagine a "Figlmüller" schnitzel here when you stop at a small but fine inn in the north of Essen - but in my opinion there is room for improvement.

In terms of price, I found the quality offered to be ok, but that's not what matters.

It should be noted that this restaurant will close in the foreseeable future and will reopen in Mülheim / Ruhr.

Nach Suchen im Web „Österreichische Küche in Essen“ bin ich durch Zufall auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Eigentlich suchte ich das Restaurant in Essen Werden, das aber immer ausgebucht ist. Somit nahm ich einen Abstecher vom Heimweg und besuchte den mir unbekannten Teil von Essen.

Mit einiger freudigen Erwartung, bin ich dann nach kurzer Fahrzeit angekommen, denn die Speisekarte hatte ich schon online gesehen.

Dee erste Eindruck des Restaurants war einem Gasthaus in Wien ähnlich, ziemlich einfach aber sauber! Da ich sehr früh ankam, war ich auch der einzige Gast.

Die Wahl hatte ich schon vorher getroffen, es sollte eine Frittatensuppe und ein Wiener Schnitzel sein. Auf das Dessert wollte ich mich nicht festlegen, da ich die Größe der Portionen nicht kannte.

Die Suppe war ausgezeichnet, die Frittaten waren hausgemacht, und die Suppe selbst kräftig und geschmackvoll. Das Schnitzel gut geklopft und die Fleischqualität sehr gut. Allein die Panade war ein wenig trocken und klebte am Fleisch. Ich nehme an, dass diese Schnitzel schon vorher in Menge zubereitet und vorfrittiert wurden um dann fertig gebraten wurden. Der Kartoffelsalat hätte meiner meiner Meinung nach ein wenig mehr Biss vertragen.

Natürlich darf man sich hier kein „Figlmüller“ Schnitzel vorstellen wenn man in einem kleinen aber feinen Gasthaus, im Essener Norden einkehrt - aber meiner Meinung nach gibt es Luft nach oben.

Preislich fand ich die gebotene Qualität ok, aber darauf kommt es nicht an.

Zu bemerken ist, dass dieses Lokal in absehbarer Zeit schließen wird, und neu in Mülheim / Ruhr neu eröffnen wird.

Wir waren letzte Woche das erste Mal in dem Restaurant und sind sehr begeistert. Darauf gekommen sind wir, weil wir gute selbstgemachte Hausmannskost wollten und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht.
Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und locker und hat einige Späßchen mit uns gemacht :)
Das Essen war durchweg sehr lecker und qualitativ sehr gut. Die Portionen waren groß und der Nachtisch war auch lecker.

Wir hatten eine sehr tolle Zeit und kommen sicher nochmal wieder!

Ich war bis jetzt einmal im Lokal essen, und habe zwei mal was abgeholt.
Jedes Mal war das essen on point und sau lecker! Im Lokal ist es klein aber sehr gemütlich. Wenn man etwas zum abholen bestellt, passt die angegebene Zeit zur Abholung. Besonders gefällt mir das die Pommes separat gepackt sind und nicht im Styropor Behältnis matschig werden! Das schaffen die meisten anderen nicht!
Das Personal ist super freundlich, heute wurde uns sogar dabei geholfen die Tüten zum Auto zu tragen.
