I went there after reading a lot of reviews and websites praising the place for their quality. Safe to say the sushi was way more average than I anticipated. It's nowhere comparable with the freshness and variety you can get in Japan. Also definitely wouldn't recommend ordering the eel rice, it's kind of a sad sight seeing the tiny pieces of eel they put in there.
Still for a Japanese restaurant in Germany the quality of their sushi was average, albeit overpriced.

Totally worth 4 stars ⭐️, worth to pay a visit when you are at Dusseldorf.
2 stars ⭐️ are of course rewarded to the essential of a restaurant—the food and the chef. Sashimi is very fresh. Unadon is great, and the side soup is not a normal miso soup, but with a small part of eel liver in it. The only minus point is about the tempura, a bit oily.

1 star ⭐️ is given to all the waiters/waitresses. Super friendly, providing good service.

1 star ⭐️ is the location, very easy to navigate and find. Many parking garages are nearby.

Compared with the average price in the neighborhood, it is indeed a bit pricey.

The best sushi (ordered a deluxe one) I’ve had so far in Netherlands or Germany! The grilled eel was superb, and my partner’s tonkatsu was also fantastic. The service was spotless. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Fair prices for the freshness and service of the place. The unagi (eel) on rice was very fresh and actually more chewy, fatty and not full of sauce than unagi we had before in Düsseldorf. We highly recommend the beef with lotus roots and Japanese pepper! It‘s super tender. The fried chicken was a bit dry though.

Best authentic japanese food in Düsseldorf and maybe in whole Germany. If looking for best and excellent quality sushi u0026 sashimi, this is the place to go. Of course, there are not any westernized rolls with lots of sauces like mayonnaise, etc. on top, but if one is looking for real sushi, there is no doubt Yabase is the best place to go. I have been there already many times and never got disappointed! My favorite Japanese restaurant in whole Germany, as I have tried many Japanese restaurants and none was as good as and as professional as Yabase with best and fresh ingredients! The lunch offer is great too! Highly recommend this place.

Tried Katsudon with miso sauce. Breaded pork escalope tasted so good. Nice and friendly customer service. Waiting for about 5-10 min can be expected at entry. Worth trying when at Düsseldorf :D

I always wanted to try Yabase and I had high expectations. The food tasted good and you can taste the quality of the dishes. My favorite was foie gras with tataki! The location is not really nice for such a high class restaurant. Service was nice but not super attentive since it was really busy. You should book a table in advance to avoid wait.
