I have been going here for 3 years as I live just above it. Probably the worst supermarket in terms of service I have EVER BEEN TO and I have lived in 3 different countries. I mostly just walk past it and go to Aldi, unless the lines are short which is VERY rare.
I do not understand.. the lines are the longest and slowest I have ever seen in my life. Have they never been to another country to see how other shops work? Maybe they could try an 8 items or less checkout, or a card only checkout. Or install some self-serve checkouts. But, it appears that there is no manager, not a single improvement has ever been made there. They just seem to be happy with being super slow and losing customers. Honestly just entering that place makes me so furious at the inefficiencies I see in there.
Just a tip if you read this, go to UK, Australia, Netherlands or anywhere else and look how other shops are run. Please please do this.

Talk about grocery shopping on steroids and Edeka will come to mind after you've experienced these stores. They stock everything and I mean everything to fulfill your expat needs! These massive grocery stores have aisles and aisles that stock a wide variety of local and international brands, and they won't leave you hungry (excuse the pun) for anything.
Their fresh fruit and vegetables are beautifully displayed as are their deli offerings, bakery and butchery departments.
This is truly one-stop-grocery shopping at its best, but, as with all great things there has to be con... and with Edeka, it's their prices. They are super expensive and nothing is a bargain. That's where your Rewe and Netto chains come in to play. However, while you're still familiarising yourself with German products and brands, Edeka is your point-of-call.

The parking there is hell. The free hour stamp from Aldi or Edeka worked sometime and most of the times not. Now the parking is under construction and we dont feel like visiting supermarket there. Aldi Edeka should get paid for reparation charges of the worst Parking lot in the whole of Düsseldorf.

Amazing range of products. Store is big, clean and usually well staffed. No long waits/queues at checkout. Closes relatively early though.

I forgot my 'pfandbon' in basket and after 3-4min I went there to take it and there wasn't anymore basket I used. I asked woman at the caisse to ask some people who work there, because only they took used backers and put them on the entrance, if she can ask her colleagues for my bon but she told me on very bad german on Hindi way, what was difficult to understand, that I should put it better next time in my pocket!!!! This is unbelievable!
