La Moka has a nice setting in the courtyard, and it's a real improvement over the former establishment, Neustadter Diechl. I took my family and in-laws here expecting to treat them to something out of the ordinary. The serving staff were welcoming and friendly. The starters were quite good and well-priced, but the mains were really sub-par. It was the first time I've sent food back to the kitchen in years, as did most of our table and two of the tables around us. 24€ tuna steaks flavourless and cooked until dry and gray. Entrecote which was definitely not Entrecote cooked dead and completely unseasoned, chanterelles with a painful amount of salt. The manager tried to smooth things over, but was overtly intoxicated and reeked of cigarettes. Our server, who I tried to reassure had nonetheless been helpful and welcoming, told me it was our fault the kitchen had had such a terrible night, which was pretty unprofessional. I ended up paying for food that was was sent back and didn't return. Long story short, go for a nice aperitivo and a starter, forget the main dishes. If you want consistently good italian fare, go with Sapori around the corner, I've also heard Casina Rosa on Alaunstr. is quite good.
