They said come to Germany, it’s a very open minded country and then you find the website of IKEA completely in German without the possibility of having ANYTHING translated. They should not complain when they said Germany is still in the past or when someone complain about their market not be so developed like the one in west Europe, even France has ikea in English, even Czech republic has it in English!!!!! the right welcome for every foreigner.
It’s like asking for German ID card to be able to buy but maybe they forgot that they are in Europe.
2022? That’s not the feeling here

Very similar to the Ikea in Norfolk Virginia. This Ikea was more spread out, the space for walking was slightly larger but the number of items is about the same. The biggest difference is everything is in German. You have to walk up stairs to get inside. In Norfolk we have an escalator. The food was comparable to Norfolk also. IKEA has good food.

Kundenservice is slow as hell, employees are talking with their friends forever not doing any work. Otherwise nice people in other sections

Loved the kinderland as a kid, like to come around to shop as an adult. Breakfast option is 10/10.

This is a review about the restaurant. The store itself is the same as any other IKEA. The current COVID rules in place that the shoppers must show the vaccination app and complete the form with your address etc which is understandable. To my surprise none of the staff in the kitchen were wearing a mask, even when they were serving. Not that friendly but typical east German military canteen style service. The food we had were schnitzel with french fries which is not the regular, photo-menu item but the blackboard menu. A big mistake. The fries were so brown, not burnt but the wrong type of potatoes used cooked in wrong temperature of oil that they turn soggy and brown. The schnitzel was nothing to write home about either. Gravy was at additional 1 Euro. I never expected that you can get IKEA food that is sub par. I expected the food is globally the same quality (made in the factory and just heated in the kitchen) and the price range - the price wasn't impressive for what we got. If you want something decent to eat or feed kids go to the Elbe Park next door.
