Super nice area.
Literally loved it. It was so calm and quiet. Not mention how clean was the whole area.
There are also a veriaty of restaurants and shops.
It'd be a very good choice for a night out and a nice stroll.

A prominent gilded statue of one of the more noteworthy rulers of Saxony
This statue is of Augustus the Strong, who was Elector of Saxony, but also King of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. He was a prolific fatherer of children, a distinguished patron of the arts, and possessed immense physical strength. However, as a ruler he often made disastrous decisions, particularly in starting the Great Northern War, which ultimately caused mayhem in the lands he intended to rule.

Worth a stroll across the bridge to see this spectacularly shiny statue

Wholesome, vegetarian food with hearty portions and at very reasonable prices. There is usually a selection of 3-4 hot dishes each day and, for an additional 5 zloty or so, you can help yourself to the salad bar.
Indoor seating plus a few outdoor tables too and conveniently located within a short walk of the train station.
The quality of the food is more typical of home cooking than haute cuisine, but it's great value and you will leave satisfied and well nourished.

Haha, why does Google want me to rate a statue I walked by. It gets a neutral rating. I mean if you like golden horse statues and you part of a baroque fandom, you gonna love this!

The Golden Rider is an equestrian statue of the Saxon Elector and Polish King Augustus the Strong. Probably the major landmark of Dresden judging the number of people wanting a photograph with it. As the name suggests, the sculpture is painted in gold colour and shines in malthusian brightness corresponding to the sun. Actually it looks pretty good at night too.

Worth taking a look, it’s fine Baroque sculpture.

People of this world, go to Dresden! The Florence of the East is well worth the effort. Enjoy the time between the baroque, Meißner wine and the sympathetic Saxons.
