Was ist nun negativ? Kaum etwas. Allerdings habe ich die Sorge, dass sich diese Art von Café nicht halten kann. Komme aus dem Dortmunder Westen, wo gerade ein ähnlicher Betrieb nach 5 Jahren aufgibt. Die Konkurrenz durch die Ketten ist groß, und um gewinnbringend zu wirtschaften müssen angemessene Preise verlangt werden (die aber heutzutage kaum jemand bezahlen will). Daher drücke ich hier ganz besonders die Daumen. Wir waren an diesem Tag die einzigen Gäste... würden aber gerne wiederkommen.

Durch die Thematisierung kommt kein Kaffekränzchen-Flair auf, ich könnte mir durchaus vorstellen, dass es Leute gibt, die sich genau das wünschen. Ich kenne viele biedere Cafés, die immer gut besucht sind. Wenn ich Café lese, dann verbinde ich damit etwas anderes (keine USA). Aber dass der "American Style" funktioniert, sieht man praktisch überall. Daher wünsche ich Euch alles Gute für die Zukunft, das Potential ist vorhanden.
