The terrasse is nice,
The service, they are friendly, but they do not pay enough attention about your requests,
The food is good, but not really italian like pretended,
The menu does not take in count the different allergies and wishes.

Don't wait for a great restaurant, it is a normal one, you won't be disappointed.

So go there if your goal is to be with your friends more than to enjoy a new experience.

One of our favourite bars in Cologne. 5 beers brewed in-house (so you don't have to drink wretched Kolsch) and a well-stocked fridge with other beers. Big, bright space with lots of seating and a sun terrace. We decided to eat there and the food was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Well recommended.

Very rude and inhospitable for larger groups. The beer is good, and the food is acceptable.

**Edit after the management responded**

I have a group that has met there for a meetup. We had been meeting there for four months. For those months, there was no problem and the wait staff were very friendly. Everyone orders drinks and some people eat there as well.
After these four months, though, the staff of Birreria were obviously just annoyed and rude. They 1) never talked to us about a *problem* (i.e. they didn't think that our group was ordering enough food/drinks) 2) never asked us to adjust our behavior or to not come back 3) never offered a private conference room for a fee (until I left this bad review, which is a little bit late) 4) never offered a productive solution to anyone.
They did 1) try to actively be rude to us 2) offer no reason or solution for the aggravation 3) harass people for not ordering *enough*.
We never tried to use the restaurant as a free conference center. I do not understand what the trigger, nor would I ever recommend this restaurant for this reason. It seems that a simple discussion beforehand could have solved this reason. Birreria did not choose that option.

I like the combination of Italian food and good beer. The beer is brewed in-house

We were five people, and while drinking the beers that we ordered, we found out that 2 out of 5 beers were more then half a year expired. After showing it to the waitress, he ignored and refused to replace them. His comments were: - it is ok to drink, don´t worry... Never again!
Pizza was okish

Lovely place to eat and have a few beers. Nice food. Nice staff. Great beer. Highly recommend
