Dog and human friendly. Quaint architecture and nice garden for alfresco eating. Good selection of regional dishes and excellent wines. Be aware that only German Bank cards are accepted so bring cash if you are a foreign visitor.

Owners don't care about making excessive noise between 22:00 and 01:00 in the morning. Problem is this restaurant is next to a hotel in a very rural area of Bremen. Owners of Der Kuhhirte go out of their way to intentionally disturb the people in the hotel by playing their obnoxious music at full volume even though the guests in the hotel want in the hotel want to simply get some sleep. Hotel manager attempted to resolve the issue but was powerless and indicated the Polizei would most likely not arrive until after 01:00 in the morning. Horrible attitude of the owner of this establishment only carrying about the people that are paying for loud music and not about the other paying customers that were trying to get a good nights sleep in the hotel next door. Not even an offer of an apology! If you experience a problem when staying at the hotel next to this establishment recommend you call the Polizei directly in order to get them to turn of the crappy loud music with constant base drum going thump, thump thump after 22:00.
