We went for Sunday brunch with four of us last weekend and really enjoyed it. You have to book a day or some days in advance and prepay the breakfast part with a transfer, which was okay for us. I have never had such exquisite brunch, freshly baked bread, brioche, pastries by the Cafe themselves, French cheeses and original salami / ham, fresh jams, salmon. They made scrambled eggs to order as we arrived. Also in the end they made fresh Crepes. Everything was freshly made and very outstanding!
I read some bad reviews below and I really cannot relate, we found the owners very friendly and open.
I am not sure if you can walk in for drinks any more - probably not, but I still really recommend brunch, it was really worth the hassle of booking in advance.
Also they have best ciders and you can buy the bottles for home as well.

I would not even give them one star if that was possible here. It was raining heavily on a Friday morning when my visitors from Denmark and I visited this cafe, which was completely empty at that time. We thought we could seek refuge from the rain in here by having some drinks and wait for the rain to pass but we were greeted by rudeness from the female staff who said "You decide to hide from the rain in here?!?". The male staff was equally rude when we wanted to order hot chocolate. In his words, "we don't have hot chocolate". There was no smile nor courtesy. This place is not representative of Altstadt. I was embarrassed to have taken my friends here. Looking at the other bad reviews of this place now, I do not understand how they are still operating. It seems that they have been rude at least for the past 4 years.

Not a good experience. It's a beautiful cafe with nice ambience. But terrible service. I went there this morning and the place was empty except for one table. I asked for a table that I could work at and they asked me to leave, as 'people working at cafes take too long'. I just needed 20 mins over breakfast, but oh well.. I ended up at another cafe in town.

The best place in Bonn to eat breakfast, no doubt at all. Wonderful hosts and wonderful food. Charming atmosphere.

Extremely pretentious, rude staff that apparently thinks they are a high end cafe on the 5th Ave in NYC. We were denied service because one member of our group didn't want to order something, and we're not permitted to sit outside even though the place was empty. Absolutely unacceptable for Bonn standards.

The best cafe in Bonn without a doubt. The most beautiful breakfast platters, delicious wholesome lunches, and a lovely garden to enjoy some quiet moments.

A rare find in Bonn - extraordinary home cooked food and ambient setting. Our ‘go to’ for a relaxed Sunday brunch or impressing overseas visitors
