They had very tasty bratwurst. I like it very much. They have a lot of different sauce with chips

I can only rate the fries, my boyfriend ate the Currywurst. His feedback was fine, not the greatest Currywurst he ever had but good. However, my fires have been overloaded with mayonnaise, which left you with a third of fries swimming in it. Not sure if that is the goal, but definitely too much on my subjective point of view. Taste was normal.

Best sausage anyone can have. No need to buy the set meal that comes with fries. The sausages are good enough. I also recommend buying the sauce back home.

delicious and cheap currywurst.
You can also buy the raw sausage and the curry sauce to make at home.

This is the best Currywurst in the world.

Why do I dare to say this? I ate here 100+ times in the last 20 years. I also tried Currywurst in approximately 15+ countries around the globe, 10 of the 16 German states and tried my best to serve a similar Currywurst in my own restaurant group (BEERHOUSE in South Africa). So I can probably claim some expertise in all things Currywurst...

The sauce is perfection. The sausage is consistently grilled to the ideal crispiness and if you ask and don't forget your "Bitte", they'll serve you a full roll, not only half. Recently ('only ten years ago ;-)) they also started serving good fries, but I'd recommend you go down the road to Max Frituur to enjoy the best fries outside the Benelux. When visiting Bochum over the last few years I noticed them adding more and more combo and sauce variations, so go wild on your second visit, but make sure you try the traditional Currywurst first. Order 'Klassik' for the real deal or 'Mild' if you don't like it hot, but skip the gimmicks to allow love at first sight to happen.

And yes - I am partial, as I lived and worked less than 15 meters away for 10+ years, but whenever I return to Bochum this is my first stop, so please stop reading and go eat there now!

This place has a cult reputation! They are well known for the 'Currywurst'. This is a German creation which is basically a bratwurst cut into about 3/4 inch thick slices and drowned in a sauce that has some semblance of a curry taste... although I'm sure any Indian would shudder at the borrowing of the name! ;-)

The sausage was very good! The sauce was nice, you could tell it was a house sauce, and not off the shelf. I had the hottest they had, which wasn't that bad, but won't cause you to sweat. I have had better sauces, but never a better sausage. The fries were too thin for my liking.

Parking available around the corner.
