There are only doctor visits once a week, if you want to see a doctor in between, you have to beg for it. The doctor who did the initial interview or anamnesis was never seen again afterwards. The food is the usual rather tasteless canteen food, if there is even the right pre-chosen dish.

The result of this specialist treatment at Bethel was that one medication was stopped altogether and my wife was recommended psychotherapy. Because that's where all the seizures would come from. Oddly enough, after the inpatient treatment, we drove to the University Clinic in Düsseldorf and wanted to get a second opinion. The doctor there adjusted the medication a little differently and lo and behold: the many seizures have disappeared and are now down to just 2-3 a month.

Die behinderten Menschen werden als unmündig und herablassend behandelt. Das ist sehr unschön, weil gerade diese besonders sensibel behandelt werden sollten (meine persönliche Meinung).

Arztbesuche gibt es nur 1x in der Woche, wenn man einen Arzt zwischendurch sprechen möchte, muss man geradezu darum betteln. Den Arzt, der das Eingangsgespräch oder Anamnese gemacht hat, wurde danach nie wieder gesehen. Das Essen ist übliches recht geschmackloses Kantinenessen, wenn es dann überhaupt mal das richtige vorher gewählte Gericht gibt.

Das Ergebnis dieser Spezialistenbehandlung in Bethel war, dass ein Medikament ganz abgesetzt wurde und meiner Frau zu einer Psychotherapie geraten wurde. Denn da würden die ganzen Anfälle herkommen. Merkwürdigerweise sind wir nach der stationären Behandlung zur Uni-Klinik Düsseldorf gefahren und wollten eine zweite Meinung einholen. Der Arzt dort hat die Medikamente etwas anders eingestellt und siehe da: die vielen Anfälle sind verschwunden und sind jetzt auf lediglich 2-3 Stück monatlich.

Fazit zu Krankenhaus Mara | Bethel: lieber nicht noch einmal. Die Behandlung war die lange Anreise und die Zuzahlung nicht wert
