I had a good experience here. The nurses and doctors were all very kind, thorough, and helpful. My German isn’t good, and in the past I have been treated poorly at hospitals because of this, but this didn’t happen here. There was even one nurse who spoke no English but she used Google translate on her phone to communicate with me.

The one downside is that it is a disorganized place. Both times I came here (for my consultation then my surgery) I was sent back and forth between different wards when I was trying to check in; everyone I spoke to was telling me I needed to be somewhere different. But this minor inconvenience was worth it for the great care.

Best hospital and staff. They were very professional, and it took about 1:30 since arrived, until they spoke with me, and I took an x ray, what is way faster than any other hospital in Berlin. I strongly recommend.

I can highly recommend the maternity ward (Kreißsaal) here at Waldfriede. I was very impressed by the quality of the medical treatment. The midwives and doctors spoke english, and took the time to guide us through the process so kindly. Overall very positive experience.

The surgery team that fixed up my hand after a bicycle wreck was great. The overall experience, however, was diminished by a lack of effort to communicate with non-native German speakers. An example was when I was delivered to my room after surgery. I was just parked and left. Despite both arms being in casts the nurse didn't explain anything, or put the call button where I can reach it. A German patient came in later and got a five minute orientation to the bed and the call button, etc. The same thing with the food. They gave the Germans menu choices, but just brought me cold cuts. Apparently the effort of asking me was too much, so someone just picked for me. When I asked why I wasn't given a choice, she said she would check, but never came back. I should be discharged in the morning but no one has explained when my family should come back to pick me up. Also the room has three people in it with no privacy curtains. Floor is disgusting under bare feet but no slippers were issued, at least not to me. Overall holistic patient experience is like a trip back to the 1950s.

The staff are so lovely here. Very communicative, and genuinely kind. They made the effort to speak English for me. I am able to speak German, but medical stuff sometimes escape me, especially when nervous about an operation. This really helped!
And what a lovely garden.
Thank you for looking after me so well!

The staff are so lovely here. I had an outpatient surgery and the experience was excellent. Highly recommended.
