I had an ongoing miscarriage and went to the hospital to get things checked out. It was a terrible experience! I was examined by a very unfriendly doctor who was really insensitive (both physically even though I mentioned that what he is doing hurts and psychologically). He also became really mean when I told him I do not speak German proficiently and would prefer to communicate in English. On top of that he did not even bother to communicate what was going on during the procedure. I had to literally ask "did I loose the baby?" to actually learn this was the case. I did not hear "I am very sorry" or any bare minimum of what one should say in such a situation. They took my blood sample to check if I didn't loose to much of it, asked me to wait for the results in the waiting room for more than an hour and somehow lost the results, so they had to draw the blood for the second time and again asked me to wait for another hour or two. Not to mention, I was placed in the waiting area with a family who just welcomed a little baby while I was crying over the one I lost, which is an absurd!!! At no point was any psychological support offered by anyone in the hospital. I would not wish this to my worst enemy. Stay away from this place.

Staff is unfriendly, unhelpful, give you lots of attitude and do not give you the bare minimum you would expect from the hospital staff. They lost my health insurance card and gave me no treatment that I was promised.

I spoke German and still treated like I was garbage ????

I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My gynecologist sent me for a further check-up to Herr Dr. med. Zaher Halwani was not only late for 1 h and 20 mins for the scheduled appointment, he checked me for literally only few minutes, said I needed a surgery and left the room. I ended up asking many questions from a nurse but she could not reply to some of my questions as she was not a doctor.

One week later I was operated in the same Gyn Humbold Klinikum. Minutes before the surgery I realised that the operated doctor who was saying hi to me was not Dr. med. Zaher Halwani but another doctor I have never seen in my life. No one ever told me that I would be operated not by Herr Dr. med. Zaher Halwani who actually checked me.

After the surgery, 4 instead of promised 2 cuts were done, the operated doctor did not visit me for 2 days. I was all upset and wanted to know what was the result of the surgery. To all my questions nurses replied that the doctor would come when he would be free...

2 days later the operated doctor came over. The worst he told me: "I was not sure if you wanted to have children, but I operated thinking you wanted". I almost cried as I clearly stated that during my first and last visit to Herr Dr. med. Zaher Halwani one week before - SO SO UNPROFESSIONAL!

It has been more than 3 weeks after the surgery, meanwhile 3 out of 4 scars got infected and I had to go to my Hausarzt, then back to this hospital to search for further assistant.

I would never recommend Gyn department of Humboldt Klinikum. The whole experience was very unpleasant and unprofessional. I could see how doctors and some nurses did not care about me and other patients.

Truly sad to be in hands of such 'professionals' as they literally decide themselves if we-women should or should not have children....without listening to us.

In May 2018, I have given birth to my daughter and the whole experience was great! Me and my husband did not speak German but that did not stop them from giving us the best care and ensuring that we understand everything so they even brought in staff that could translate for us. Though honestly there was one Doctor that I felt was not very pleased with my presence (lol) but that’s fine, guess you’re not everyone’s cup of tea. But the rest of the staff were amazing!

My daughter couldn’t latch properly so the midwife even lent us their breast pump till I get my own from my insurance. Couldn’t ask for more. Godbless them!

I am again pregnant and due in April and I choose to give birth here again. :)

Generally speaking, staff members were nice and helpful. However, if you don't speak German, don't even think to go there! Additionally, for the first time ever in my life here in Germany, power gone (yes electricity) for 4 -5 times during 4 hours, of which the first time of power cut lasted for about 1 hour!

We went to the emergency room because a friend had a very scary synthom. We realized that it was empty, but thanks to that they received him quickly. Instead of making him the main important and urgent test the same night to verify if there was a risk of complications, they told him he had to be recovered. They didn't check if his health insurance was covered but made him 2000 tests leaving oddly for some days later the main and most important check (that resulted negative...). Food was very cheap and sometimes we had to ask many times confirmations about the allergenes contained to avoid him eating stuff that could have created other complications.
Finally he kind of escape from there, after getting stomach sick, and because they couldn't find anything from the tests. As last, they very kindly propose him if he wanted to be brought home by an ambulance (in the test there was nothing)?!? Now I aknowledge they sent him a bill or more than 2300 euro home (for couple of days).
Sincerely this whole story seems quite suspect and has very bad consequences for an honest and regular EU Citizen that was only very scared of being under risk of death and only because of that went in the emergency room of an hospital, trusting in their professionality and reliability.
