We watched there very educative videos about a history of the wall, not only in Berlin but about the one that divided East and West Germany. Also the remains of the wall opposite the centre were very impressive.

This center is small but compact. There are info stand with very friendly and helpful staff, restrooms, gift shop, multimedia room on the second floor, sitting area with coffee vendor machine.

Great visitor center with a video explaining the construction and design of the Berlin Wall. It then had a second video explaining the impact on life to the east Berliners. The videos are played in both English and German. The videos are then subtitled in the other language. Plus, it's free.

A real piece of history. The visitor centre shows a short documentary on the half hour in English. Really interesting installations are located opposite the visitor centre which has audio and video in English and German.

I wasn't sure I wanted to spend much time at this section of the wall, but I'm glad I did. Center staff were friendly and helpful. The orientation film, which was supposed to alternate between German and English voice over somehow never switched to English. I can't fault staff for this, as things run on an automatic loop which they can't control. I was able to get a lot of information from the visuals.
I suggest visitors start their tour with the displays inside the S Nordbahnhof station across the street, and continue up from there. I was particularly fascinated by the story around Tunnel 57.

Visiting the Berlin Wall which divided the East from the West was a surreal experience. I've always been interested in WWII history so having the opportunity to see the Berlin Wall was a once in a lifetime history lesson for me. I liked being able to hear the oral history exhibit and seeing pictures of people who died trying to leave East Berlin. The other great thing about this tourist attraction is that it is Free and open to the public. Was a bit sad after leaving but glad I got to see a bit of history.
