The place is nicely decorated and the staff is kind, however they forgot to bring us the wine and I had to claim it in the middle of the meal. Other than that, the food is average and extremely over priced. The creme brulee was not crunchy. I don’t recommend it.

The experience here can be a hit and miss in terms of food. The starters are amazing, however the same main dish tasted differently the two times I ate it, first time being really salty. We could notice an improvement based on the feedback we gave however, hence the 4 stars, but I would say they still have two work to fully deserve it: serving is really slow and the prices are not up to par with the delivery, especially for wines (quite expensive compared to the market).
For the area though, one of the best alternatives around.

More Mediterranean than true French food, but quite good. The shared starters of our group were quite flavorful. Service was enthousiast and charming.

Superb!

Ah! – what a nice evening we had here! We – that was me with my family (two kids 15 and 17), my father in law from Prague and my in-laws from London, were visiting the place between X-Mass and New Year. Since I work in the vicinity and we had some nice lunches there (nowadays they are only open in the evenings – too bad…) I knew the place.

La Casserole is offering simply the best mix of French and North African / Arab cuisine I know of in Berlin. Here our evening delight:

All eight of us were easily convinced to have the menu of the evening. An excellent Amuse-Gueule (parsnip mousse and a small lamb noisette), Starters-Plate “Aux delicés Mediterranee” (my favourite: the Tabulé which was – pardon me, friend – better than my Arab friend’s mothers), a horrific venison (deer) main dish (the sauce with a bit of maroon syrup – delicious!) and an simply sensational Dessert plate: There was a figue/almond dish that must be traditional to Morroco or Tunesia which was just out of this world! The Mousse aux Chocolate (white and brown) was great of cause but this figue/almond stuff was just something I have never had before.

Beyond such outlandish plaisirs: My rather traditional father in law from bohemia had the duck with red cabbage and kale with potato dumplings and – while coming from the dumpling headquarters of the world – was more than pleased.

The whine we had with this was a Pouilly Fume (I cannot have red -sorry) and a Cabernet Sauvignon for my sister in law. All wine drinkers were happy and the beer and coke fraction on the table was – in their humble ways – also pleased ;-)

All of this might sound pretty straight forward, but simple things become special by care taken on preparation and presentation. Our evening was in both aspects outstanding!

Who wants to know, how two cultures (French and Arab) can enrich each other and third (central European), will find in “La Casserole” the right place.

Thanks u0026 we’ll be back soon!

P.S.: If I might have a whish regarding the wines: Please consider having some of the more decent german wined – e.g. from Palatinate vineries – in your cellar. They would go excellent with your dishes and are much more reasonably priced then equivalent quality french bottles.

P.P.S.: To whom it might concern and on the danger of talking about money which is of cause a touchy subject: The total price per person for this evening was less than 50 €.
