The disappointment of this hotel started before we even checked in. The parking advertised on the website simply didn’t exist. When we asked for it the receptionist gave us a shrug and couldn’t even suggest other places to park.
And the receptionist was the biggest let down on this stay. The family ahead of us took half an hour to check in for no apparent reason. When it was our turn it everything took so long. Forms to fill in, the same questions over and over. We had two separate reservations because we had decided to stay an extra night in Berlin but these were so hard to link together and he asked us to do it on check out instead. Eventually we got our keys, but every interaction with this individual was a pain. Getting extra towels - not possible, come back in two hours was the standard response. Come check out it was the same individual again. We had done exactly like asked and wanted to check out from one reservation and into the other. It took him very long, and eventually he just sent us on our way promising that we’d keep the room. 15 minutes later he called me on the phone to come pay, sounding very brusque. Just for me to come down and be waved away “come back in two hours”. At this point I was very displeased as I told him that we’d be going out and can’t come back in two hours.
After a long process he managed to charge us for the next night and we were on our way.
Aside from the horrible receptionist the staff seemed friendly enough. The room was ok too, but the window wouldn’t close which mean that the heat wouldn’t turn on. To avoid the receptionist we never complained about it. When this receptionist is no longer working there, I’d consider booking again.
