Stayed for 5 nights in the hotel during my vacation in Berlin. overall here is my experience.
PROs:
1) Great price for the quality - the hotel has great standards, theres a nice bar at the lobby, everything seems very well kept after and cleaned, rooms seem brand new, absolutely worth the price you're paying.
2) Very close to central public transport stations (Aleksanderplatz) - Theres a tram right outside the hotel that comes every 5 minutes during the week, takes you directly to Aleksanderplatz, and thats where you can take a train basically everywhere in Berlin.
3)Very friendly staff - we were greeted right away at the reception as soon as we walked in, luckily the staff speak English fluently, we got our room and were even given a few recommendations of places to see and visit. even the room keepers said hello every time you pass by them.
4) The rooms - I visited in March, so it was fairly chilly outside, luckily the room had well working air conditioning, kept us nice, warm, and toasty. showers ALWAYS had warm / boiling hot water, even had towel warmers and a hairdryer available.
CONS.
1) The beds - I think this one might be a personal preference, but in my taste, the beds were a little too stiff and not the most comfortable, but it wasn't too big of an issue. sadly they also only had thick warm blankets available, during some warm nights, even with the air conditioning off, I felt too hot being covered in them.
2) The location - could be a pro and a con at the same time, even though it was very close to really comfortable public transport... walking at the streets during the night was a bit scary. there were a few drunk people roaming the streets, the area around the hotel wasnt too lit either, overall felt like the hotel was located in a shady neighborhood.
Overall, I decided to give the hotel a 4/5 rating.
it was a great experience, its not designed like a 5 star hotel, but it sure earned its 4 stars. high standards, high quality rooms, and friendly staff.
For the price I paid, it was sure 100% worth it and I would happily stay at the same hotel in the next time i'll visit Berlin.
