Awful staff. Woman behind the bar has nothing but contempt for non Germans. Would be a pretty decent bar but the overt racism (nationality rather than skin tone) from the staff is unbelievable. 'After hours' drinks were served to the German couple next to us, when we asked for some we were basically told to do one in a very unfriendly way. Another patron tried to justify this by saying she's the boss here. Sorry but how can you possibly justify someone treating you differently because of where you're born?! Not just this incident, you are made to feel very unwelcome from the second you walk in. I'm not a delicate flower sort by any means but I've honestly never experienced an establishment like it. In summary if you're not German then forget it and head round the corner to Republic instead where the staff couldn't be more friendly if they tried.

The beer is good and inexpensive compared to the same bars but the bartender is not very friendly although there's a lady who's not always there but she's much better.

I think this is a bar for locals. Could be wrong but I got that impression. All the positive reviews have been translated.
When I visit Berlin again I’ll be choosing other bars to visit. Other than that, it’s got drinks I’ve never heard of (Dracula?) and they are cheap. Non-smokers be warned.

Awesome "old man" bar. Traditional German beers at prices that'll make you blink twice. Highly recommended

A real piece of Berlin culture. The barman is nice enough. Good opportunity to brush up on your German. Because he doesn't know much English. ????

People on here seem to complain because the locals don't applaud when you come in. This is a local bar, with actual locals and the authenticity that comes with that. They don't actually need you, deal with it.

Smoking takes place here, ss advertised on the door, they just take cash and there is no food.

Loved every minute I stayed.
