i give 3 starts because it looks like they might delete the review again.
So this is the first review i had to share in public because if the food is really horrible for what you pay approximately “12 euros” and it’s usually forgivable if the customer service is reasonable ( as myself that had worked in hospitality good +10 years can say i understand how it is..as customer we don’t expect us to be treated as a king or queen but don't want to feel attacked when being honest for what we pay)

My dear friend recommended this place and we decided to dine here and what she ordered was pork with rice curry which i didn’t have a moment to take a photo but it was a very thin strip of only a little bit of fat and crumbles around. It was the half width size of what i see in one of the reviews.
when i kindly commented i was not happy about the crepe and this lady whom served sounded upset so i tried to be nice at first. it was an asian lady with a ponytail whom served us. she was in aggressive tone as if we did say some wrong it was not really going anywhere better but ruin our evening.

She just tossed us a bowl of sadly cooked mungbean sprouts and sprinkles of tiny shrimp army. we didn't feel like continuing dinner here anymore and when went to the counter because apparently they didn't want to come to us.

we shared our thoughts because the energy killed the mood her and her very lovely colleague ( you know what sarcasm means right? ) gave us the bill of the full price which means basically pay for the food we didn't have and leave. they said as if it was totally our fault because other tables didn't complain.

I understand the inflation is not doing any good for all of us but come’n let’s at least be nice to each other.

A few years of experience at this place might have been nice but i doubt they will gain any regulars if they keep this kind of system / behaviour.

Never again.

Fresh ingredients and super tasty dishes, salad with sticky rice, their pork belly .. wow! Super juicy! This is for sure one of my favorite place!

Pretty bad food. Germanized. Expensive. Slow.

EDIT:
Because the owner responded, with a lightly anti-semitic tone as well, I will elaborate:

The Pho was tasteless. One of the worst ones I ate in Berlin (and yes, I actually did spend time in south-east Asia and have an inkling how authentic food tastes). The starters were deeply-fried but the oil was not soaked, as such they were too oily. The Som-Tam - while sufficently hot, did not have enough fish sauce and in general lacked flavor. The only properly prepared dish was the sticky rice that came with the Som-Tam.

Hence: the food was Germanized in the sense that it was made to fit some hypothetical German pallet.

Regarding the price, we ate the above + a single beer. The cheque ran at 35 euros. Even with inflation, that is a hefty price for such a meal in this part of Berlin. Therefore, its expensive - although I wouldnt mind paying this price if the food was great.

The main courses took 40 minutes to arrive. The waiter was very slow (it took him 15 minutes to bring chilli and condiments, and the cheque arrived 10 minutes after I asked for it). On top of it, he was rather rude. Yes, it was rush hour - but this was unprofessional.

Finally, the answer of the owner below is (a) lightly anti-semitic, and (b) not accountable at all for the service in the restaurant. I am not going to return there again.

By the way, this is the second time in 5 years I visited the place. It was not great before, but it was certainly worse now.

The food was very good and the staff super nice..
all in all a nice Location, the only minus is the acoustic..
Even if everyone would speak at a lot Al level, the room is very echoey so the noise level is insane, which obvs isn’t their fault..

Just maybe a thing you might want to consider before eating here :)

The atmosphere is quaint, the service is very friendly and the food delivers the promises made. I had the tofu salad with original heat and I was warned to be extremely spicy. I can attest that this is one of the few places in Berlin which packs in the punch that it promises in its spice levels. The original spice levels guarantees a Carolina repear explosion in your gut. So choose wisely. However, I really enjoyed the tofu, the sticky salad and the mango lassi to combat the heat.

I'm always very skeptical about Vietnamese places because they seem to all offer the exact same dishes tasting exactly the same. At this place though, the food was extremely tasty and definitely had its little peculiarities, that made it fun and interesting.
The nuts noodles were amazing.
