The staff were nice. The food was ok. If you’ve had Indian food, you may see the difference between them. If you go with the expectation of having an Indian food, you may end up a bit disappointed. However, the Pakistani dishes are very tasteful too.
I just didn’t like how dry my Chicken Tikka Masala was. I was hoping for more sauce.
The paneer pakora didn’t seem to be homemade. The menu was very sticky too.
In general, a bit of cleaning is needed.

The food I had (Punjabi thali) was decent. The portion size could have been bigger, though, and the thali was served on a plain metal plate with three segments. The salad was served without any dressing whatsoever and was thus bland. The service was attentive and friendly. Overall, however, I can't rate my experience as above average, and the praise in some reviews seems a bit excessive.

Overall food was good. Portion was also good.
The papadum served as an apptizer before meal was not cooked I think. The overall food taste was good but more inclined towards the Indian taste rather Pakistani. The staff and sitting area is also quite good.

Used to be one of our “stamm” favorites for years, but there is a significant decrease in food quality and taste. This place used to be one of the best in the neighborhood, now it’s just very generic. Not terrible, just boring.

My bad. I love Indian/Pakistani food too much to accept that in Germany almost always you will only get mediocre quality stuff. In over twelve years I only once or twice have eaten in a decent curry house...
I just don't understand how a place like Chelany gets a 4.5 rating. What's wrong with people? Haven't they eaten proper curries to know the difference? Because this is a far cry from being even passable. The only good thing was the service, but not a single thing we ordered would make me even consider giving this place a second shot.

I regularly go to this restaurant which offers honest Indian food. There are many options for vegetarians and even vegans. Sometimes we even get a mango Schnapps at the end of the meal offered by the owner.

My favourite curry house in Berlin. I’m a Brit and it’s very hard to find good curry in this city. Chelany does it better than most - excellent flavours, big portions and friendly service. I keep coming back here!
