Great new spot in the hood. Pricey wine but all worth the zhooosh-ness. Instant fav!

Nice ambience, good wine. However, the food is not at all close to what you would expect for the clientele they try to serve e.g.
the meat was overdone,
the plates and food were cold.
But the deciding factor for us was that the staff was not very friendly.
Though it has some class to it and you can easily imagine having a nice evening there together I cannot recommend going there if you want your dinner to be anything but that.

Rude Service for the Second Time - What a beautiful place, well decorated, good wine and food right around the corner with easy access to unwind...nearly perfect but sadly not the case.

We went to enjoy a glass of wine last night. We ordered our drinks but some of us were just not hungry and declined to order a large dinner. We instead asked if we could have a small side dish and it turned into a rude few minutes that made us shake our heads and the evening less enjoyable. The host explained to us that this was a restaurant and that he cant just serve side dishes or - God forbid- have us not order a dinner!!! I was absolutely baffled by his response. On top, he made sure to tell us that if we wanted just a drink we could go else where bc his tables were for dinner guests. I looked around and the place was EMPTY at the time (7pm).

When we asked for the bill, we got it right away. We also mentioned when he handed ti to us, that we would like to pay by Credit Card. He looked at us again, sighed and said "well, you could have told me that when you asked for the bill!!!!" Again, speechless. Dear Brisgavi owners: you have a wonderful little restaurant here, good wines and we really enjoy the ambiance every time we come here. But could you please teach your host to behave cordially when customers are present?

I am wondering if I should contact the owner of the restaurant to make him aware that this is not how you treat guests that order a glass of wine for 10 Euros and stop by more or less frequently. After all, restaurants like these depend on customers from the neighborhood and word of mouth reviews.

(Translated by Google) Restaurant with an ambitious, manageable menu, beautiful restaurant, pleasant terrace (even if it is right on the sidewalk/street, it's relatively quiet).
For the food: the pulpo on beluga lentil salad was delicious and the pulpo tender; unfortunately quite expensive at 20.50. Unfortunately, the ceviche of tuna with avocado was not well seasoned (too much salt and coriander) and at 24.50 it was clearly too expensive. The tagliatelle with fresh mixed mushrooms weren't spectacular, but they were okay - at 22.50 they were too expensive. The halibut on artichoke and chanterelle salad was again delicious but cost over 30€. The drink prices are reasonable (glass of wine between 7 and 10€). I would have liked to give it 4 stars, but only 3 stars because of the high prices.
We paid €162 for 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 aperitifs, 2 bottles of water, 4 glasses of wine, 1 dessert and 2 espressos. At this price, everything should have tasted just right... The current prices are significantly higher than in the old menus on the Internet, you should take that into account. The service was ok - nothing more. With this price-performance ratio I would not go there again, or at best only for 1 glass of wine...

(Translated by Google) We love it! That was missing here: finally creative but not too fancy cuisine with matching wines in a Mediterranean, relaxed atmosphere! Summery with asparagus and prawns and buttermilk mousse!
We will be back!
